Oxford’s “Very Short Introduction” Series

I’ve been assigned the Very Short Introduction to the Roman Republic for a Roman History course this semester. This great series from Oxford University Press features short books (about 150 pages long) on what they call, “a wide range of subjects–from Islam to Sociology, Politics to Classics, and Literary Theory to History.” Most seem to be around $10-15, but I got the Kindle version of “The Roman Republic” for only $6.15.

If you ever want a subject you can quickly learn about over a weekend, check them out!
